1966-2001

The World Trade Center in New York City was a complex of seven buildings designed by American architect Minoru Yamasaki and developed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

In 1970, construction was completed on One World Trade Center, with its first tenants moving into the building in December, 1970. Tenants first moved into Two World Trade Center in January 1972. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was on April 4, 1973.

On August 7th, 1974 a lone Frenchman named Philippe Petit stepped out on a wire he attached between the towers of the World Trade Center through clandestine and brilliant means. As he took his first step onto his steel cable with his balance pole, 1,350 feet above the ground, he said that he was walking on air; guided by angels and his own genius.

On February 13, 1975, the WTC North Tower was beset by a fire, which burned at temperatures in excess of 700°C (1,292°F) for over three hours and spread over some 65 percent of the 11th floor.

“Yeah. Hi. I’m on the 106th floor of the World Trade Center. We just had an explosion on the, on the like 105th floor,” the 35-year-old tells a dispatcher. “We have about 100 people here. We can’t get down the stairs. We have smoke and — it’s pretty bad.”

A dispatcher tells him: “Just sit tight. Just sit tight. We’re on the way.”

I have since the 5th Anniversary of the 9/11 event been conducting some enquiries as part of my ongoing research to determine the source & nature of the “explosion on the, on the like 105th floor”, as it is described above.
As a result of my enquires to a ‘9/11 widow’ Beverly Eckert who lost her husband on floor 105 and who witnessed this explosion via her cell phone, I received the following communication.

“I am responding to you because I do not in any way subscribe to conspiracy theories about the 9/11 attacks nor do I believe that the collapse of my husband’s building (the South tower) was brought about by pre-set detonations from within. However, the source of the explosion I heard has never been explained to my satisfaction.
I asked NIST to address it in their investigation, but I don’t believe it was mentioned. You might want to check their report to confirm either way. I know that I once asked Dr. Shyam Sunder (of NIST) personally about it. (I did check & there is no mention of any explosions in any of the final NISTNCSTAR final draft documents).
He theorized that what I heard might have been the sound of the tower’s water storage container on the roof exploding from the intense heat. If that were the case, it seems to me the floor just below the roof (where Sean was) would have also been extremely hot, since heat rises. Yet Sean was still calmly talking to me just before the explosion. Clearly, the area he occupied was not at furnace-like temperatures.”

Ms Eckert has been or remains a member of, amongst other post 9/11 organisations:
Skyscraper Safety Campaign, Coalition of 9/11 Families, Families of September 11th & 9/11 Families to Bankrupt Terrorism.

There are a large number of references to floor 105 WTC2 in NISTNCSTAR 1-6D. In this document, the same mechanism of collapse, top down, is recreated word for word between the two instances of the two separate towers. In other words this conforms to NIST’s own admittance that the understanding of the mechanism of collapse is largely hypothetical, based on computer simulation & eyewitness testimony.
