‘With another love shall I then love you.’ — Nietzsche

sad.jpgSo, the new shelton wet/dry is becoming a little repetitive. Same bizarre stories of weirdos, psychology revelations, cancer cures, American Apparel chicks… Repetition can be positive (Nietzsche’s eternal recurrence), even orgasmic, but usually it’s soporific.

Conclusion: I’m less inspired by working on the site. Conclusion of the conclusion: Starting today, I’ll stop publishing the nsw/d daily. I’ll post once a week, every Friday- the same kind of quoted moments, but by doing less of it, I hope I’ll keep it interesting and exciting for all of us.

Thank you, JC

i’ve enjoyed making nsw/d a part of my morning everyday for the last year or so. the “bizarre stories of weirdos, psychology revelations, cancer cures, American Apparel chicks” -always neatly cropped and completely out of context, like it’s namesake- present an oddly compelling portrait of contemporary culture. it’s new format will become another reason to look forward to friday.

  6. matte blak Says:

    please reconsider

  7. tommy Says:

I can’t even imagine the amount of time you’ve invested every day in making this happen, but I, for one, have greatly enjoyed. Thank you!

  8. Keo Says:

Boo! I also look forward to every morning before I read my important emails, to see new posts throughout the day! Whenever I get a creative block, I can look to you to freshen my perspective! Your vacations are agony, I worry this will hurt as well! I don’t think you’re repetitive!

I blame myself. I didn’t mean any of those things I said. We could start over. I’ll change! I swear. You can even make other websites, if that’s what you want. Just don’t leave me… Please I’m begging you-, NSFW,- er um uh I mean NSW/D, you know I can’t go on with out you.

(PS I have a private collector who is willing to pay $100,000 for the URL, but you will have to move it to PHiladelphia. Please advise)

I’ve noticed you post A LOT of stuff. I find it all super interesting. If it’s getting boring maybe posting less frequently will help - or maybe try broadening the subjects you post about.

Good luck, love reading your stuff, it’s always very compelling!

    Good luck, and thanks!

  32. andrew Says:

That’s a shame because, while it might be a formula, it’s a brilliant formula. You’ve put me on to countless interesting articles and images on NS W/D so although I’m disappointed you’re going weekly I understand your reasons. Looking forward to Friday…

  36. comment_image J von Cupcake Says:

Ever since I stumbled upon your site and saw just how much e-goodness it contained I’ve been coming back to it every single day. That being said, if the seemingly endless stream of updates have become a burden to you then cutting back is definitely the right thing to do. I hope you’ll enjoy the retrieved free time & thank you so much for everything.
You will be gravely missed, sugartits.

This is my favorite website. I switch favorites quite frequently, but somehow this site has been the most compelling read continuously for me since i discovered it a year ago.

I agree with previous posters, the amount of work you seem to put into this website is astonishing, and for that I’m incredibly grateful. Thank you. (p.s. I do think you should have a PayPal link hidden here somewhere, and I’m probably not the only one of that opinion)

  38. richie. Says:

thanks for giving me something to read every morning.
i suppose now i have one more thing to look forward to on friday’s.
this is my favorite site for the past year and look forward to more.

Understandable - you put in a lot of effort. I’ll miss my daily dose, but as long as there is a weekly one, I’ll get by. Thanks for the site so far. Very entertaining.

On the one hand, I’m relieved: so much quality content to get to on a daily basis, I was starting to feel overwhelmed! On the other hand: no, don’t leave me!

Thanks for the ridiculous amount of work you’ve been putting into this task; you will be missed while you’re gone. I now have something to look forward to on Fridays.

    man ill miss it!!!

Hi, long time lurker of your impressive and original website, I don’t think it is neccessary to stop posting here on a daily basis, I just read on Boing Boing about a blogger who was strapped for time, so rather then stop posting altogether he outsourced his daily posting work through a company to a friend in India, who recieves his blog work for the week, and posts it in his absence. So now the page doesn’t have to dissappear.

The company has a website called www.taskseveryday.com, you sign up for an account, give them the informaton they need , and you get a 24/7 personal assistant to help you continue to blog for this website. CNN says that you can get this service at a very affordable price , as little as 30 USD a month.

It’s up to you of course, but please reconsider, this website is one of the most creative and innovative places on the blogsphere, don’t give up!

Christ, but I’ve only just discovered you. Don’t do this to me. Don’t leave me alone in this godforsaken wilderness.

  61. Corker Says:

I am deeply saddened by my loss. -sigh-

  62. Chris Duncan Says:

I absolutely love your blog.I tell so many people about it. If you need to just sell ad space, fuck it! We all will still love you. Basically make it your job by selling out. Even Indians had homes made of skin. You will have to sell out to sell your self in.
DO IT. This site is aweome

  63. Tony Castellini Says:

Somehow, I have come to think that nsw/d it´s not a blog run by an actual person. To me, it feels more like a natural sublimation of the internet, a automatic mixture of this absurd but meaningful ocean of information. What matters who´s speaking, right? That anonymous, despersonalized feeling it´s, I think, one of major strengths of this site.

So… Please, please, dont be a human being and dont take our daily dosis of the internet out of us.

  64. comment_image nickf Says:

Can I avoid a mawkish reaction to this news? No, I don’t think so…

    Shame on us.

No New Shelton Wet/Dry sucks harder than a New Shelton Wet/Dry.
I am enamored with the smart, eclectic content here and although I wish you’d reconsider, I understand the quest for the fresh.

Thanks for all the hard work! I will now go cry myself to sleep.

  67. jules Says:

I’ve enjoyed NSW/D immensely… its a beautiful creation and an inspiration to seeing the world in a new light.
I’ll keep looking out for the weekly updates!

  68. Jeremy Says:

This makes me sad but I can understand your reasoning. I just want to say thank you for all of your hard work and let you know you have done a great job. I will miss the daily updates but will appreciate the weekly updates that much more.
